The Cabo luxury villa they were looking at certainly offered them everything they could hope for. The travertine floors throughout were exquisite of course. The wide galleries open to the breeze and the wide golden sunsets.
As far as Cabo San Lucas rental homes go, there probably wasn’t anything better on the market.
He wondered if his wife
She prattled on and on, animatedly discussing this and that rental option with the leasing agent. Were the jet skis tied to the dock part of the package? Did the infinity pool have a fully stocked bar on deck?
‘Honey, did you see this?”
He looked up momentarily and smile vacantly.
She was waving at the mountains in the distance.
They’d been married for five years now. They had two children that were theirs between them, not counting the older set of twins from her first marriage, Mickey and Jason. Their own children had their mother’s eyes. Yuri was 4 now and the doctors said he’d never develop normally but little two year old Olga was fat and fine and her eyes stared back at him, searching.
He wondered if the little girl who’d never been named because she died a week after she’d been born with her twin sister would have looked at him with the same startling shade of gray.
Mickey and Jason made him uneasy. He wished they’d go live with their father. To be honest, his luxury real estate business and her equipment sales company had been tanking lately and their constant demands for this gaming system or that car was beginning to grind on his nerves.
One day he came home after another fruitless open house to find the Times folded in half and sitting on the kitchen counter. It was opened to the pages advertising Cabo vacation rentals. She’d looked at him squarely, with an oddly expressionless face and said, “Honey, maybe we should look at some of these Cabo San Lucas rentals. It’s been ages since I’ve been down there.”
She’d left her first husband after a week in a luxury Cabo villa a year before they had met. That would’ve been six years, this April.

Home staging is a popular industry in today’s weakening real estate market. With home prices lower after the housing bubble burst, it can be difficult to get the price you want for your home or get it off the market in a timely manner. Home staging is designed to make your house more appealing to potential buyers. Here are some possible steps that you might learn about if you decide to take any home staging courses:
- While your home is currently yours, potential buyers need to be able to see it as theirs. Home staging professionals will do what they can to make your home as impersonal as possible, so that interested buyers can see it as a blank slate. This means taking down family photos, putting collections away, and basically removing personal items that reflect the owner rather than the home. This is an important point taught in home staging classes.
- If you have outdated fixtures, flooring, and other features in your home, a staging expert will most likely work to update these. The expense of making these changes is often less than increase in selling price that a fresh and modern look can bring. The less work a new owner will have to put into their new home, the happier they will be.
- Stagers will often rearrange your furniture, remove some pieces, and perhaps even have you purchase some new ones. While your current arrangement might work well for your lifestyle, the chances are that it doesn’t showcase the potential that your rooms have. A clean and open look that really shows off the space is preferred.

There are a number of decisions that those people looking at installing swimming pools in their home have to consider. One of the biggest is whether you would want an above ground or in ground pool. There are a number of advantages to each type.
In ground pools are often the choice for more serious swimmers, as they are larger. Interested in diving boards in your very own backyard? You definitely want to get an in ground pool for that, as that is the only type of pool that is deep enough for diving. Always remember to keep safety in mind first! The same consideration holds true if you have kids asking about pool slides. The last thing you want is for what is supposed to bring your family a fun summer experience to cause anyone injuries. In ground pools can also be made in custom shapes and sizes fairly easily.
Above ground pools on the other hand tend to cost much less, leaving you with more money for infrared saunas, Jacuzzis, or anything else you might want to add to your yard. Because they are generally smaller, you will also spend less on chemicals and any other items that you might need to maintain them, including swimming pool solar heaters. Because they are raised off the ground, it can be easier to prevent young children from accidentally entering them unsupervised. Another positive factor is that such pools are generally not considered permanent structures. This means you don’t have to deal with zoning laws or negatively impacting the value of your home.

While much of Colorado has been gearing up for the Democratic National Convention, the mood around telluride, co, is focused not on politics but on the long summer season of festivals. The latest festival, the 5 th annual Telluride Festival of the Arts, was held August 15-17. The event featured a free concert by Grammy-winner Taj Mahal and the Taj Mahal Trio, whose bluesy stylings serenaded festival-goers. This was the first year that a free concert was added to the festival in an attempt to boost traffic in Mountain Village.
In addition to the concert, the festival featured its usual eclectic mix of food, drink, visual arts, and music. Cooking demonstrations, wine courses, tastings, workshops, and art exhibits by more than 50 artists also spiced up the festival. People from all over the U.S. —and all over the world—descended on Telluride to enjoy the mix of exquisite food, art, and drink while also basking in the splendor of the Rocky Mountains .

I specifically requested a truck with a lift gate and an electric stacker on the phone yesterday and the guy on the line says , “Yeah, he’ll be there.” Of course, I take his word for it.
Rookie mistake.
Of course, the driver shows up bright and early the next day at 7 a.m., and, of course, he shows up without any material handling equipment. I’ve been there since 6 making sure all the tags are hung and the purchase orders are squared away and the declaration documents are annotated. This is absolutely the last thing I need. The Canada job is next week, and it was a mission to gather all our supplies and pack them up for cross-border shipment. The customs and NAFTA paperwork was more complicated than I thought they’d be and I’d had to stay late to make sure the prep job on the barrels had gone according to plan. They’d arrived naked, with no finish, and we’d had to stain them to match the color palate that had been chosen in the design. I’d stayed late to palletize the signage and the balsa wood animal heads and the jars and here I was early the next morning and dealing with this.
Without the benefit of an electric pallet jack or even a hand pallet jack, we somehow had to manage the thousand pound laden pallets, six in total, onto the back of his truck. Of course, the lift gate was inoperable. Jose said he’d had an accident just yesterday There had been a row of manlifts and work platforms he’d been trying to avoid in the yard he’d pulled into. It looked like he’d backed into the loading dock and busted the latching equipment and probably some hydraulic lines and the controls as well.
Of course Julie was hysterical demanding I call the company back and get Vineet on the line and how dare he-? Frankly, I didn’t have the time or inclination to listen to her tantrums. We needed the pallets on those trucks and in the next shipment or they’d never be ready for the casino job. It was set to start bright and early Monday morning and this gear had to be in country fast.
We had one of those combination dolly/platform trucks, but the tire was busted flat on it and the thing was just about useless. I talk it over with the driver.
He climbs in and pulls out just about the sorriest looking hydraulic lift table and a dented dolly that had definitely seen better days.
It wouldn’t be much of a lift table. And the work platform on the truck was narrow and cramped.
This was gonna be rough.
