If you are a pet owner, you may wonder how your furry friend will respond to a fake lawn. Rest assured, he will not even know the difference other than he cannot bury his bone in the grass any more. Your lawn will not turn yellow and die where your pet goes to the bathroom, and any liquid waste will sink down through it. Progress has been going forward in the synthetic turf grass industry. They now offer grass that has more than one color to it; giving it a more realistic look. The most common combinations have three or four shades to them. One of the colors will be a white or yellow. If everything was all nice and green it would look fake. The off color is not prominent, but it is there enough to break up the green. When you reach down to touch your lawn, it will even feel real. They have gotten rid of the plastic feel.
The chemicals they use to create synthetic lawn turf are completely non-toxic. While your dog will not be able to chew through it, he may try.
